I don't really know what I am doing/ where to start, or
That will take work, or
I don't think I can do that/ I am not good enough, or
It costs money, etc
That last one is an interesting one. I have lots of thoughts on all of these excuses but that isn't important right now. That's a whole other can of worms. But, Here's what I was able to accomplish this week:
I made homemade pizza pops! Easy frozen supper or quick lunch. They turned out really well and I am quite proud.
I have tried a couple of times to make homemade bread and done very poorly, but this week I really wanted spaghetti and meatballs and I thought a french bread would go very nicely with it, so I just did it and I must say they turned out quite well!
Aiden has been a great helper, he's getting so big!
Out of the kitchen and into the garage. I recently acquired my parents old dressers. They have had these since they were newly married and have been a fixture in their bedroom my whole life. They recently re-did their bedroom and didn't want these old dressers anymore. They were more than happy to let me take them off their hands and a little excited to see what I would do with them I think. I plan on breathing new life into them. I have never done anything like this so I am just figuring it out as I go (with a little help from some blogs, I love allthingsthrifty)
Here's the before, there's this one and another long dresser beside it that has a mirror that goes on top. They are a matching set
And here is where I'm at so far, some sanding and some priming done
You'll have to stay tuned for the final result. There is a rush on this project as we would like to be able to park back in the garage. Especially Matt with his very early mornings and all. Early morning seminary is a killer, we basically got a garage just so Matt wouldn't have to scrape the winshield and brush off the car at 5:45 in the morning - He deserves it! ALTHOUGH, it isn't the car that Matt will be driving anymore, yes, we are the proud owners of two vehicles! Check out this beauty - can't you just see Matt running about in this beauty!!!!
I also got a bit of sewing done, another one of my loves even though I really don't know what I am doing. Aiden may be a year and half old, but I finally made a crib skirt, now I just need to finish the blanket I started/bought supplies for before he was born. Now you can really see that I have a procrastination problem that I am working through!!
Here's the finished result
For the top of the bed skirt, I cut up an old pillow case that I accidently dyed pink in the wash. You don't see it, afterall. Right |
This is just a little close-up of the detail in the bed skirt. I don't even know what this is called! |
Oh, I almost forgot a couple other things that made this week so great. I finally decided to go out and buy sheets that fit our bed, it's only been three years that I have trying to make king sheets do on our extra deep queen bed. That's what you get when you have a 22 inch deep mattress. I ended up getting a pretty good deal, so that was good. I am very very excited to make the bed up tomorrow.
And Denver and Jazmin had their baby. YAY. Aiden now has a boy cousin. We can't wait to go see them, and hold the little guy!

That looks like a seriously productive week to me. Good job on the pizza pops. I would love the recipe. They look like something I might be able to make without wrecking!
I showed Ivory and Elizabeth the picture of Aiden and Ivory said "That's my friend." They miss Aiden.
I am quite impressed with all your projects and crafts! You are a busy woman!!
